Curriculum
Aldro is proud of its proven success in preparing young people to attend leading independent senior schools. Despite the school’s heritage and traditions, it offers a modern, progressive and innovative curriculum that will prepare both girls and boys for the future. Spanish is being introduced as an option for pupils in forms seven and eight. The school is part of Radley Schools Group and its most recent ISI inspection named its cocurricular and enrichment programme a significant strength, enabling pupils to ‘flourish academically, creatively, physically and personally’.
Sport & The Arts
The arts are comprehensively covered with a dedicated art and DT block and an active drama, LAMDA and music programme. Sport plays a huge role at Aldro, encouraging fun through participation in all sports whilst improving skill levels and developing an understanding of the values of team sports. In September 2025, the school launched a new sports pathway, allowing pupils with strong potential to develop their skills in sport through additional coaching and masterclasses.
Pastoral Care
If children are to thrive at school, they must first feel happy. Aldro’s strong pastoral model and tangible sense of community, together with the values that stems from its Christian foundation, underpin pupils’ day-to-day lives at the school, helping to ensure that each child is uniquely known and individually valued. There is a weekly boarding bus route from Wimbledon as well as a local morning bus service. The school’s most recent ISI inspection particularly recognised Aldro’s ‘culture of kindness’.
Exit Destinations
Last year, 49 percent of form eights achieved a senior school scholarship from one of the following: Cranleigh, Charterhouse, Winchester, Radley, Tonbridge, Harrow, Wellington, Bradfield, Lancing, Seaford and KESW. Disciplines included academic, music, sport, art, design engineering, drama and all-round.
