The lucky labels with a coveted spot on the royal’s arm
It’s no secret that the Princess of Wales has an impressive wardrobe, filled to the brim with designer dresses, suits, coats and shoes. And when it comes to the bags she accessorises with, the labels she has on repeat are no less impressive. These are the top handbag brands loved by Kate Middleton.
The Handbags Loved By Kate Middleton
Alexander McQueen
Kate Middleton doesn’t just turn to Alexander McQueen for dresses and tailored suit – the royal also seeks out the British design house for a fair few accessories too. The royal owns a curated collection of box clutch bags (perfect for the red carpet), plus a few handbags that she’s worn out and about at daytime events.
Aspinal of London
The Princess of Wales tends to steer clear of easily dated trends, instead relying on classic styles to keep her wardrobe consistently relevant. And when it comes to handbags, that’s where Aspinal of London comes in. The label meticulously crafts some of the finest leather handbags in Britain, in styles that feel effortlessly timeless.
Asprey London
While the Princess of Wales is perhaps better known for wearing fine jewellery from Asprey London, she also likes to shop bags from the brand. She supposedly owns a custom version of the Wiltshire bag, a red top handle style, which she debuted during a visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in 2025.
DeMellier
Known formerly as Milli Millu, British label DeMellier designs all of its luxury bags in London (before they are handcrafted in Spain). The Princess reportedly owns just three bags from the label, with her most recent purchase making a public appearance in 2025 during a visit to children’s mental health charity Anna Freud.
Emmy London
If there’s one thing the Princess of Wales loves, it’s a clutch bag from Emmy London. The British label specialises in high-end shoes, accessories and, of course, bags – often kitting out the royal (as well as her mother, Carole Middleton) matching heels and clutch bags for formal events. One of her favourite pieces is the Natasha clutch, which she owns in at least 15 different colourways and textures.
Jimmy Choo
Just like late mother-in-law, the current Princess of Wales wears a lot of Jimmy Choo. She’s worn plenty of shoes by the brand over the years (too many to count), but she’s also carried a good number of the brand’s clutch bags too. (She seems particularly fond of the Celeste style.) And if you’re in need of a fun fact: did you know that Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, met Jimmy Choo himself at a tea party in Malaysia back in 2012?
L.K. Bennett
An overall favourite, Kate Middleton is said to own no less than 85 pieces from British label L.K. Bennett – including an impressive collection of clutch and handbags. She tends to stick to classic styles, like the Dora clutch, but also has a few suede numbers from the brand which really pop up on camera.
L.K. Bennett entered administration in 2026, but you can still shop the brand secondhand here.

Mulberry
And her go-to handbag brand? It has to be Mulberry. The Princess of Wales has carried 12 styles (in multiple colours and finishes) from the heritage brand since joining the royal family – as well as a few more before then. She typically opts for handle top styles from Mulberry – think Amberley, Harlow and the brand classic, Bayswater – which she carries for daytime and outdoor events.
Smythson
Another homegrown heritage label on Kate Middleton’s radar is Smythson. The royal has a few bags from the brand, including a large tote she carried on a trip to Pakistan, a zip-up folder hybrid she took to the Foundling Museum and a few clutch bags that she regularly teams up with elegant tea dresses.
Strathberry
Strathberry seems to be a popular label amongst most members of the royal household. The brand counts Meghan Markle and Zara Tindall amongst its customer base – as well as the Princess of Wales herself. Strathberry bags are known for uplifting timeless design with contemporary hallmarks, such as the brand’s signature bar detail.
