Beauty Podcasts To Tune Into Now

Naked Beauty

‘I’ve always loved fashion, beauty and a good story,’ says Refinery29 Chief Content Officer and Naked Beauty host, Brooke DeVard Ozaydinli. A veteran in the fashion and beauty space – having been a teen model with Ford, an intern at Vogue and an industry-facing content creator – DeVard Ozaydinli started up her podcast back in 2016, with the goal to offer unfiltered talks around beauty trends, selfcare journeys, skincare, wellness tips and more. Nine years later, the award-winning title can regularly be found topping podcast charts globally.

LISTEN

Style-ish

For a fresh take on the beauty landscape, head over to Style-ish. The podcast, a creation from independent Australian media company Shameless Media, delves into the intersections of fashion, brand, business and (most crucially) beauty. Hosted by marketing consultant Maddison Sullivan-Thorpe, Sage Agency founder Anika Joshi-Smith and dermal therapist Joanna Fleming, Style-ish takes the conversation across K-beauty trends, sunscreen woes, haircare myths and more.

LISTEN

Breaking Beauty

If you’ve ever felt a little left behind when it comes to the latest beauty buzz, this is the podcast for you. Hosted by top beauty editors Carlene Higgins and Jill Dunn, Breaking Beauty (quite literally) breaks down the top brands, trends and products of the moment – ‘we’re here to tell you what’s good,’ the two say of their show – and invites industry experts to share their top tips and advice. Be prepared to learn something new (and have a giggle while you’re at it).

You’re Dead To Me (Episode: ‘Renaissance Beauty’)

A slightly different beat, but how do you feel about delving into the history of beauty? BBC show You’re Dead To Me sees host Greg Jenner (who was formerly a historical consultant on Horrible Histories) invite a historian to deliver a witty lesson on a topic of their choosing – and deliver it to an (equally as witty) comedian. While the podcast isn’t entirely dedicated to beauty, a recent episode, led by Professor Jill Burke and Tatty Macleod, heads to 16th century Italy to look at the rise of Renaissance beauty standards. (And there’s even been a fashion podcast episode on the history of high heels, if that takes your fancy.)

LISTEN

Outspoken Beauty

If you’d prefer to cut through the noise surrounding the beauty industry, then you’ll want Outspoken Beauty – which is fondly dubbed ‘the UK’s most honest straight talking beauty and wellbeing podcast.’ Here, columnist and broadcaster Nicola Bonn gets to the bottom of beauty taboos; nothing is off the table, and topics cover everything from self-pleasure and hormones to ageism and health anxiety. Plus, you can expect a huge roster of big name guests – including Trinny Woodall, Rita Ora, Tigerlily Taylor and Richard E Grant.

LISTEN

Beauty Brains

Ever wanted to have a skincare specialist on speed dial? Well, this podcast is pretty much that. Hosted by cosmetic chemists Perry Romanowski and Valerie George, Beauty Brains puts all of your questions to real scientists – who will tell you all about the products to use (and which ones to avoid). Episodes pick up on queries like, ‘Can you tell if a beauty product has gone bad?’, ‘How do you treat sunburned skin?’ and ‘Is more expensive skincare better?’ Tune in to find out the answers.
