TRUE Skincare

You might remember TRUE Skincare from its stint on Dragons’ Den, where resident dragon Deborah Meaden invested in the brand. The two pillars of the brand are its dedication to using organic ingredients and its waterless formulations – alongside its commitment to offer luxurious skincare at affordable prices. TRUE Skincare’s products are also certified organic and cruelty free.

Sakrid

This small hair and skincare brand was founded in 2020 by Natalie Hughes, who was pushed to make a change when, following her mother’s breast cancer diagnosis, she noticed how many potentially harmful ingredients went into our everyday selfcare products. Sakrid specialises in beauty products that are completely derived from natural ingredients – and although there’s currently just a handful of skincare products in the Sakrid line, they are all vegan, halal, cruelty free and handmade in the UK.

Pai Skincare

Made with sensitive skin in mind, Pai Skincare is another ultra-certified beauty brand (vegan, organic, cruelty free and B Corp) for your radar. All products are formulated and manufactured in Pai’s London HQ, where the team carefully craft a range of cleansers, toners, moisturisers, boosters and more. The story behind the brand is also an interesting one, coming to fruition when founder Sarah Brown developed urticaria – and found herself struggling to find hypoallergenic and organic skincare that wasn’t full of synthetics or irritants.

UpCircle

B Corp beauty brand UpCircle ticks a lot of boxes for us here at C&TH – not only is the brand vegan (given the green light by The Vegan Society), it’s also certified organic and cruelty-free, and committed to being plastic negative. UpCircle is best known for formulating its skincare using salvaged ingredients from the food and drinks industries, picking up used coffee grounds from cafes and leftover fruit water from juicers, for example.

What Is Vegan Skincare?

Vegan skincare products are those that do not contain any animal ingredients or animal-derived by-products. Instead, these products are often (but not always) made with plant extracts and essential oils, rich in antioxidants, minerals and vitamins.
