British shirt-maker Turnbull & Asser, known for kitting out 007 on his many big screen adventures, has launched a special limited edition collection in honour of the anniversary. The collection features a range of shirts, ties and pocket squares, many of which have been brought to life from the brand’s archives to recreate James Bond’s wardrobe. The tie we’ve picked out here, for example, is a recreation of the one worn by Bond in the 1997 film Tomorrow Never Dies, and uses the original patterns and receipts from the first design. A true piece of cinema costume history to be worn for special occasions.

This year marks 60 years since cinema-goers first saw Dr No, and were introduced to their soon-to-be favourite onscreen spy, James Bond. British knitwear brand and Royal Warrant holder John Smedley has released a new, limited edition sweater that pays tribute to England’s farming traditions while utlising more eco-conscious production methods. A chunky fisherman-style knit, the sweater has been made using undyed yarns to highlight the beauty of our country’s natural resources – specifically the wool from Cheviot, Polled Dorset and Dorset Down sheep breeds. The sweater, which has been produced in a limited run of 150, can be tracked from farm to finished product (having travelled just 300 miles total) and has been made completely in the UK. ‘As a result of climate change, every business everywhere is now having to think hard about products and processes they create,’ said Ian Maclean MBE, managing director of John Smedley. ‘In our fashion industry we know that materials need to be developed that have a much lower negative impact on the planet. Radically shortening our supply chain, as we are doing for this project, is one way to experiment and develop new ways of thinking.’
