All Eyes On St Ives, Cornwall

The world's leaders are descending on St Ives for the G7 summit

Inspired by all the Cornish coverage ahead of the G7 summit, and ready to plan your next visit? Us too. St Ives is one of Cornwall‘s most popular destinations, and for good reason. Aside from the turquoise seas and golden sands, there’s a bustling food scene and one of the country’s most exciting art scenes. Here’s where to stay, what to eat, and where to go…

Where to Stay in St Ives

Carbis Bay Hotel

Ask for a sea view (naturally) and enjoy a glass of champagne (or two) on your private balcony. With comfortable rooms and bright, jaunty décor, there’s nothing drab about this seaside hotel, which has been the pick of the leaders jetting in for this year’s G7. For the ultimate beach break, check into one of the multi-room Beach Lodges. You’ll wake up in your sea-room view to find a breakfast hamper of delicious Cornish treats on the doorstep, before stepping off your private terrace straight onto the beach. The lodges all boast rooftop or beach gardens, with open-plan lounges and floor-to-ceiling windows leading out to private sun decks, plus access to all the hotel’s spa facilities. Oh, and the sea-view hot tub will keep both you and the kids happy.

Boskerris Hotel

This cute little bolthole has 15 beautiful rooms all with clean, Mediterranean styling. The views are as beautiful as the interiors. An Instagrammer’s dream.

Una St Ives

For a rustic Cornish family holiday check into one of these cute holiday homes, book a couple of treatments in the spa, plan picnics and plenty and just generally enjoy the great outdoors.

Where to Eat in St Ives

Wherever you go… Order the crab.

St Ives Seafood Café

Does what it says on the tin. Super fresh fish, no frills. It’s all about the very best of the local ingredients, which are excellent.

Porthmeor Beach Café

This cute cafe sits directly opposite the buzzy Tate Gallery, so it’s a great choice for a pre or post-gallery bite. A lively café overlooking Porthmeor Beach, it’s a great spot to watch surfers doing their thing. The sharing plates are perfect for social dining, order a selection, sit back and enjoy the view. Try and grab an outside booth if you can.
