Bella Freud Is Back At M&S – These Are Our Top Picks From The New Drop

M&S has always had a pretty solid clothing selection – but recently, the high street stalwart has really upped its game. Spearheaded by trendy new designs and exciting collaborations, the brand has once again claimed its title as a British icon. And the next collab on the list? M&S has teamed up once again with London-based designer Bella Freud on an ultra-chic Winter ’25 offering – and it’s quickly getting snapped up online.
Our Winter Wardrobe Just Got Chicer, Thanks To Bella Freud And M&S
Bella Freud is back for round two with M&S, launching a brand new capsule with the high street treasure today (16 October). Building on last year’s womenswear capsule, the London-based designer presents a new 35-piece collection with picks for women, kids and home. (And maybe the dog, if they’re lucky.)
‘After the huge success of the debut M&S x Bella Freud collection last October, it was a no brainer that we team up with Bella once again,’ says Maddy Evans, Womenswear Director at M&S. ‘Customers loved the collection, from the iconic word jumpers through to the classic Bella Freud tailoring styles, and this newest collection features all of those hero styles and more, whilst continuing to champion luxe fabrics including 100 percent silk, 100 percent cashmere and velvet.’

Freud worked collaboratively with the M&S design team to create the final collection. Through it all, the designer took a hands-on approach to the collaboration, from concepting at the archive and sketching designs in her London studio, through to seeing the collection come to life on set during the campaign shoot.
Once again, the collection dips into the designer’s playful style – including her signature slogan sweaters, which feature phrases that have been hand-drawn by Freud herself. From ‘Wham Bam’ to ‘Kind’ and ‘Dance’, there’s plenty of quirky slogans that will no doubt be a hit come winter (and Christmas jumper day).
There’s also plenty of new ‘dressed up’ tailoring options too. ‘This year’s collection is based on the idea of entertaining at home,’ comments Freud. ‘You want to be a bit dressed up and feel glamorous, but you also want to feel at ease. At the centre of the collection is a velvet suit and around that, there’s wool and cashmere knitwear and silk shirts, to style it back with. I think the styling feels old school and glamorous – its dressing down that’s dressed up.’
But it’s not just the girls who will be having fun this winter. ‘We haven’t stopped there,’ confirms Maddy. ‘There’s a surprise in store because we’ve expanded the collection, introducing family PJ’s, kids, home styles, and not forgetting the dog – a real treat for customers ahead of Christmas and perfect for gifting!’
Alongside womenswear, Freud fans have the chance to shop family PJ sets designed for mum, dad, kids and baby – decorated in small slogans like ‘Dreamers’, ‘Snuggle’ and ‘Snooze’ – as well as matching seep masks and cashmere socks perfect for curling up.
Little ones also have their pick of catchphrase sweaters this season. Dressed in shades of red, navy and burgundy, the kids’ jumpers come with the playful slogans ‘Me!’, ‘Laugh’ and ‘Star’.
There’s even something for the dog. ‘I must tell you about the little dog jumper, which I think will make people very happy,’ says Freud. ‘It’s really fun to make a little garment for a dog – and they’re often hosting alongside you, so it’s only fair they dress up too.’
And what better way to wrap up your house party than with a chic tablescape? Freud and M&S expand their design universe with dinnerware, serving dishes, glasses, linens and home fragrances – ensuring the cosiest (and most stylish) night in possible.
‘The new addition this season is homeware and when designing these pieces, I was thinking of all the things that I enjoy when I’m entertaining at home,’ adds Freud. ‘Inviting people into your home is about taking care of them, imagining their pleasure in the things that you can provide. From feasting around the table together to the calming scent that carries you through your evening.’
