She might not have taken home the top gong, but Billie Piper stole the spotlight on the BAFTA TV Awards red carpet

ICYMI: the biggest night in British television took place last night, with the return of the BAFTA Television Awards. And while most eyes were set on the show itself, plenty of attention fell on the red carpet – and one actress in particular. Billie Piper stormed the 2025 BAFTA TV Awards in what might be her chicest red carpet look yet.

The ‘Scoop’ On Billie Piper’s Red Carpet Look At The BAFTA TV Awards

Billie Piper never fails to impress on a red carpet, but her look last night was a hands-down a winner at the BAFTA TV Awards. The actress, who stepped out in a pretty pink gown for the evening, was nominated for Leading Actress for her role in Netflix’s Newsnight drama Scoop.

The actress steered clear of the usual full gown or tailoring options, instead opting for an elevated punk creation by British label Vivienne Westwood. The dress featured an asymmetric hemline with a pleated micro mini skirt at the front and a long train at the back. This was topped off with a sculpted bodice and the House’s signature corset detailing.

Piper also tapped into one of the year’s ongoing fashion trends: 90s nostalgia. The star wore her light pink gown with a pair of sheer black tights and chunky platform heels, laced up at the ankles, in a stylish grunge twist.

Billie Piper’s BAFTA TV Awards look was curated by stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray, who has recently been busy dressing Florence Pugh for the Thunderbolts* press tour. She teamed up Piper’s pink ensemble with a selection of jewellery from Bvlgari.

The actress’ hair and makeup, meanwhile, was a bit more pared back, with an artfully messy updo and a glittery ‘doe-eyed bambi’ beauty look leaning into the softness of her outfit’s colour palette.

Awards Highlights

Away from the red carpet, the BAFTA TV Awards proved to be a big night for the BBC, which bagged 18 of the possible 27 awards up for grabs. Taking home awards across factual productions, dramas, comedies, soaps, sport and more, the production studio demonstrated its continued monopoly over the British television scene. ‘It’s been a year of outstanding creativity on the BBC and all the winners demonstrate our unwavering commitment to backing homegrown storytelling and talent, and bringing people together for unmissable events,’ said the BBC’s chief content officer Charlotte Moore. ‘I’d like to congratulate all the winners for their exceptional work.’

Other big winners included ITV’s Mr Bates vs The Post Office, which won the prize for Limited Series, Marisa Abela, who bagged Leading Actress for her work in Industry, and Mr Loverman‘s Lennie James and Ariyon Bakare, who took home Leading Actor and Supporting Actor respectively.
