Here’s everything we know so far about Trinity

Bodyguard is one of the very best BBC shows in recent memory, starring TV stalwart Keeley Hawes and Richard Madden – then best known for playing Robb Stark in Game of Thrones and Prince Kit in live action Cinderella (2015) – as Home Secretary Julia Montague and her ex-soldier bodyguard David Budd. Both delivered stellar performances, propelled by Jed Mercurio’s gripping writing, so we were pleased to hear Mercurio and Madden are reuniting on a new thriller. This time heading straight to Netflix and with Madden in the politically powerful role, here’s everything we know so far about Trinity.

Netflix’s Trinity: Plot, Cast, Release Date & More

What’s The Plot?

Featuring a close-quarters submarine and tense politics, this upcoming Netflix series is giving us serious Vigil vibes. Trinity will centre on Commander Katherine Decker (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), a heroic naval officer working second in command on the USS Kansas – a nuclear submarine and one of the deadliest weapons on Earth. Visiting the submarine is the Secretary of Defense, Webb Preston (Madden), who differentiates himself from other politicians with an authentic-feeling charisma and a background in technology.

Katherine is compelled by Webb, and the two enter into a romantic affair. But everything is thrown off course when Katherine discovers a dangerous conspiracy – that Webb seems to be at the heart of. And with a reputation for innovation and purpose, he’s shaping up to be a dangerous threat in more ways than one.

British writer Mercurio is best known for his work on the multi-award winning series Line of Duty as well as Bodyguard, which attracted an Emmy nomination for best drama and a Golden Globe win for lead star Madden. With a medical background, his other credits include Breathtaking, Critical and Bodies.
