6 Street Style Trends We’re Loving At Copenhagen Fashion Week SS26

Polka Dots

The one trend we all saw coming this season? Polka dots. Whether big or small, monochrome or multi-coloured, this classic print has been calling the shots this summer – and its reach extends to Copenhagen, where street style took a particularly spotty turn. Black and white was the palette of choice this time around, with many showgoers opting for dotted co-ords, coats, jackets and skirts. There proved to be no wrong way to wear them either: doubled up, as a statement accessory or even clashing against another print.

Modest Mesh

While sheer fashion can make a bold statement on the runway, we’ve been left to wonder how we can make it our own on an everyday level. (Preferably without a surprise nip slip.) Cue, modest mesh. Copenhageners have taken on the challenge with grace, using sheer pieces to create new textures, layering techniques and pops of colours. We saw gauzy bold hues layered over shirts, embroidered mesh dresses draped over trousers and sheer pleated skirts layered dresses. Bold Stripes

Polka dots weren’t the only major print in attendance this season – there were plenty of stripes to go around too. While we saw a smattering of pinstripes, painterly lines and multi-hued colour blocks, the overarching trend seemed to hinge on bold, bright, sailor-like stripes. Think chunky bands of colour – in all colours – running horizontal and vertical, on dresses, tops, shirts, tights and accessories. Another classic print, revived for the modern trendsetter.

Ruffles & Frills

While quiet luxury continues to thrive in London, in Copenhagen it seems people are embracing maximalism once more. Not just through prints and patterns, but through texture too. We’re talking big, bouncy ruffled, sculpted frills and lacy details. Big on city-ready boho chic, with a splash of cottagecore cutesiness for good measure. Key standouts from Copenhagen’s street style set were boho maxi skirts decorated in tiered frills, baby doll co-ords with ruffed bloomers and flounce tops with flowing sleeves.

Skirts Over Trousers

It wasn’t on our 2025 bingo card, but the noughties skirt-over-trousers combo is back in a big way this season – and Scandi girls give us a master class in modern styling. Fashion Week attendees opted for long, loose pants (some with a quirky detail, like a stripe, balloon cuff or embroidered jean) with some kind of see-through skirt layered over the top. Think beaded tulle or mesh and embroidery anglaise, with colour palettes spanning muted neutrals and sugary pastels. The golden rule, meanwhile, is to introduce some kind of playful texture – whether that be pleats, sequins or cut-outs.

Flip Flops

As for footwear, we spotted plenty of trendy sneakers, cowboy boots and loafers – but the major standout (one we also noticed last year) was the humble flip flop. A staple of the Scandi summer wardrobe, this season’s flip flops come in bright bold shades – think cherry red and butter yellow – as well as minimalist monochrome. Some stuck to a classic style, while others boasted some elevation (literally) with a small kitten heel. Whatever the style, there was one detail everyone in Copenhagen could agree on: wearing a skirt that could show off their flip flops in all their glory.
