You can now swing by Anya’s Tuck Shop for a post-school treat
The doors are about to open into London’s newest educational hub: Chelsea County Grammar School. But rather than maths, English and science, the daily timetable will instead consist of handbags, pencil cases and tuck shop sweets. After all, what else would you expect from one of the UK’s most eccentric names in fashion? Here’s everything you need to know about Anya’s Tuck Shop, the latest concept store from British designer Anya Hindmarch.
Coming This Weekend: Anya’s Tuck Shop
When you were a child, did the words ‘back to school’ fill you with dread? You’re not the only one. But Anya Hindmarch’s take on the academic chaos has us craving the arrival of September.
Highlights from Anya’s Tuck Shop include bag charms, pouches, pencil cases and other leather accessories modelled after retro confectionaries
Anya’s Tuck Shop, housed in the newly named Chelsea County Grammar School on 11 Pont Street, is a love letter to the nostalgic feeling of revisiting your schooldays. It’s the fresh stationery, brightly coloured doodles and graffiti, messy uniforms, school lunches and academic trinkets that make the thought of going back to school exciting.
‘“Back to school” were never words that brought me much joy… until now,’ says Anya Hindmarch. ‘I have had so much fun exploring the subject of school. The graphics, the graffiti, the stationery and the stash. And this time it is all play and no work.’
A closer look at Anya Hindmarch’s curation of accessories for Anya’s Tuck Shop, running 23 August–12 October 2025
The latest activation in Anya Hindmarch’s rotating concept store, Anya’s Tuck Shop takes over from the brand’s summery Ice Cream Project pop-up (and, before that, coastal favourite Anya’s Dive Shop and stylish fitness hub The Village Bike). Having only just closed the doors on its last pop-up on 16 August, the Anya Hindmarch team has given themselves the task of transforming the space in just under a week. A fresh start for the new academic year.
What To Expect
‘You’ll be transported back to your schooldays,’ promises the brand, offering a sneak peek at what visitors can expect from the pop-up. The concept store will feature a curated collection of school-facing accessories, inspired by a host of recognisable retro brands – which the brand says ‘will be instantly recognisable and nostalgic, but in thoroughly up-to-date guises.’
Anya Hindmarch’s school desk features highlighters, glue sticks and textbooks – but all is not as it seems
In true Anya Hindmarch fashion, you’ll find bag charms dressed as packets of Mini Cheddars, Polos, Love Hearts and Sun-Maid Raisins, as well as pencil cases modelled after bags of Nerds and Skips. Other leather accessories, meanwhile, have been given the school book treatment: doodles, scribbles and playful graffiti.
Anya’s Tuck Shop will also be home to an exclusive rendition of the Universal Bag. Decorated in burgundy and navy stripes – with the usual three-stripe handles – this iteration of the cult shopping bag was inspired by the distinctive stripes found on classic school ties. Sold as a mini-and-large duo, the bags will be up for grabs from ‘mid-term’ (roughly halfway through the pop-up’s run).
The new Universal Bag, decorated in classic school tie stripes, is set to launch during the concept store’s run
