The Country & Town House Responsible Buyers’ Guide
Wildsmith
Hand & Body Wash with Magnolia And Rose, £35
If there’s one little luxury we’ll always indulge in, it’s a sweet-smelling soap. Wildsmith’s latest hand and body wash was inspired by the walled gardens at Heckfield Estate, and features notes of magnolia, rose and cedarwood. This heady blend will make you feel like you’ve stepped into a bucolic English garden with every use.
House of Hackney
SunSeason Ceramic Candle, £85
House of Hackney is going back to nature. The beloved interiors brand recently launched Wonder Garden, a herbalism collection created in collaboration with renowned herbal practitioner Harriet Coleman. Consisting of facial oil elixir, supplementary drops, scented candles, cold-pressed soap bars, handcrafted ceramic mugs and loose-leaf tea, the range has been developed in the Mother Garden at the Castle of Trematon – a historic estate under the guardianship of House of Hackney founders Frieda Gormley and Javvy M Royle – and designed to help us reconnect with nature through small, daily rituals.
Luca Faloni
Suede Leather Overshirt, £1,125
Hit a wall with your wardrobe? Finding core staples that work for your daily rotation can feel difficult at the best of times – let alone when you add fickle weather into the mix. Our top tip? Opt for timeless silhouettes, textures and colours – Which can all be found in this suede leather overshirt by Luca Faloni. Made in Tuscany, this lightweight and crease-resistant shirt will see you from day to night, season to season, and town to country.
CALLUM
CALLUM x Daniel Hopwood Edition Lounge Chair, £13,500
Now this is a chair we’d love to lounge in. Design studio CALLUM has teamed up with interior designer Daniel Hopwood on a special iteration of its famous lounge chair, in a celebration of British design. Upholstered in low-carbon Muirhead leather tanned in a rich shade of oxblood, each chair is handmade to order – and would look absolutely stunning in any room of the house (although we can imagine sitting back with a good book in a home office).
Oakley
Sphaera Strike Sunglasses, £191
Feeling inspired after the London Marathon? These Oakley sunglasses are the perfect bit of kit to kick‑start your spring running regime. The lightweight O‑Matter frame resists deformation, while the earsocks and nosepad grip better as you sweat, keeping them firmly in place mile after mile. Oakley’s impact‑tested lenses also provide robust protection, making them a durable, performance‑focused choice for daily training and race‑day runs alike.
Burberry
Activewear Hooded Jacket, £895
Burberry has returned to its roots with the launch of Burberry Activewear, a new lifestyle collection that draws directly on founder Thomas Burberry’s legacy as the designer who invented gabardine – a fabric created specifically to be lightweight, breathable and built for movement. The hooded jacket is the hero piece: crafted from soft, lightweight materials with breathable panelling, it’s trimmed with the house’s signature Burberry Check and finished with a reflective Burberry Knight rendered in a screen-printed gradient, as if caught mid-stride. Consider your running outfit upgraded.
Barbour x FARM Rio
Petal Dress, £399
The second chapter of one of fashion’s most joyful collaborations is here. Barbour – the British heritage brand with over 130 years of craftsmanship behind it – has reunited with Brazilian label FARM Rio for a Spring/Summer 2026 collection that is pure wanderlust in wearable form. Classic British wildflowers – daisies, cornflowers – have been reimagined through FARM Rio’s signature hand-painted prints by London-based artist Carolyn Jenkins, landing on quilted jackets, trench coats and Barbour’s iconic wellies.
Atelier Ninety Five
Linen Oversized Boxy Blazer, £245
Launching its first ever in-store space this month at Selfridges is Atelier Ninety Five, the epitome of laid-back-luxe. This relaxed linen blazer captures the brand’s rework, restyle, rewear ethos. Crafted from breathable natural linen, it offers lightweight structure, a boxy silhouette, and versatile layering. Perfect for effortless summer tailoring, we’re lining it up for wedding season, resort escapes and summer work parties.
Jo Malone London
Lime Basil & Mandarin Outdoor Candle, £300
Just in time for alfresco season, Jo Malone London has brought its best-loved Lime Basil & Mandarin scent outdoors. This large 1.5kg candle – crafted in the UK by specialist makers in a porcelain design with a matte glaze finish – is made to scent garden dinners and summer parties alike, with citrus fruits and aromatic herbs lifted by peppery basil and zesty lime. It is part of a wider refresh of Jo Malone’s spring Home Offerings, which also includes a new Lavender & White Cedar addition to the Night Collection (linen spray from £45) and new miniature room sprays in three classic scents (from £24).
Atelier Rebul
Istanbul Golden Hour, £100
The third instalment in Atelier Rebul’s Istanbul-inspired fragrance series has arrived, and it is as evocative as its name suggests. Istanbul Golden Hour, created by renowned senior perfumer Pascal Gaurin, captures the moment the sun dips towards the Bosphorus horizon, enveloping the city in warm, golden light.
Orient Star
M34 F8 Skeleton Hand Winding, £2817.99 (limited edition, 430 pieces)
From Orient Star’s 75th anniversary series, the M34 F8 Skeleton is inspired by the Perseid meteor shower and is limited to just 430 pieces. Its ring-shaped openwork dial, finished in a black and grey gradation with a matte glaze, is set against a high-quality stainless steel case with black-plated bracelet and bezel, creating a striking two-tone contrast that evokes outer space. The new calibre F8B65 movement takes things further with a meteorite-like finish achieved through advanced laser processing, a comet-shaped balance bridge and a silicon escape wheel reminiscent of the Milky Way.
ROKA London
Marylebone Shopper Tote, £59.95
London brand ROKA – a certified B Corp with a devoted following for its colourful, considered bags – has just launched its most practical design yet. The Marylebone Shopper packs a 42-litre capacity into a cotton canvas tote that’s equally at home at the farmers’ market or the school run, with a dedicated laptop sleeve, two internal zip pockets, and a built-in water bottle compartment keeping everything in its place. It comes in 13 colourways, from the understated Taupe and Midnight to our pick, the Strawberry Stripe, and at under £60, it’s one of the better-value buys on our luxury list this month.
The White Company
Spa Escape Collection, from £15
Spending the night in? If it’s relaxation you’re after, spend the evening indulging in The White Company’s recently refreshed Spa Escape collection. You’ll find the brand’s beloved spa candles, diffusers and fragrances, alongside a brand new Cleansing Exfoliator – designed to strip and rehydrate the skin in one fell swoop – and Glow & Shimmer mist – which leaves skin dewy and glowing. The collection shares the same fragrance family: top notes of ripe peach and orange blossom, offset by a soft vanilla base. The perfect addition to your at-home self-care routine.
Barneby Gates
Scallop Shell Wallpaper, from £141
Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside – at least, when it’s sunny. And when the weather is less forgiving, we’re happy to compromise on a coastal-themed interiors moment at home. And with seaside wallpapers like this one from Barneby Gates, you can make believe that your living room, bedroom or downstairs loo is somewhere on the great British coastline.
Reiss
Cass Suede Single-Breasted Relaxed-Fit Blazer In Tan Brown, £450
Suede has never been as versatile or looked so good as in its many iterations this season. We’ve got our eye on this hero piece, crafted from the softest suede with notch lapels and patch pockets. A statement in quiet luxury, it will help to elevate a pair of jeans while dress down a floaty summer dress.
