Who Won The Great British Bake Off 2024?
Georgie was crowned the winner of The Great British Bake Off series 15, which aired on Tuesday evenings from 24 September right up until 26 November. The 33-year-old paediatric nurse beat out 11 fellow amateur bakers across 10 weeks to claim the coveted Bake Off cake stand. Well done, Georgie!
‘I’ve won it,’ she said upon the news. ‘I can’t believe I’ve won it. I cannot believe I’ve won it. It just means everything. It’s just incredible. I can’t believe that I’ve won The Great British Bake Off!
‘I just means everything,’ she continued. ‘I’ve always been so self doubtful. I’ve got this, I’ve got that wrong with me. I can’t do it. And you make excuses. And for once I just thought, no, i’m going to go for it, and I’m going to put my everything into it.’
‘Georgie did what she does best: classic British baking,’ Prue added. ‘Beautifully done. And she won it – and quite right, too.’
‘That’s a very special cake,’ Paul commented. ‘Full of favour, full of life. The Welsh wonder: Georgie. Smashed it out of the park.’

Joining Georgie in the final were fellow 33-year-old Christiaan, a Dutch-born menswear designer who provided a slow and steady performance across series 15, and the bookies’ favourite to win, Dylan. The second youngest baker in this year’s batch, 20-year-old Dylan shone across all 10 episodes, impressing the judges with his creative flavours and delicate attention to detail. Earning Paul Hollywood’s favour with a plethora of commendable handshakes, we’re sure this isn’t the last we’ve seen of the young baker.
‘I’m so so proud of Georgie, so happy for her,’ Christiaan commented. ‘She deserved it. She is amazing. She’s such a good baker.’
‘Her cake was insane,’ Dylan added. ‘It was literally like a picture perfect summer garden cake. It was so good. Well done! I’m really glad she got it. She’s just absolutely wicked.’
In the final, Georgie, Christiaan and Dylan were tasked with three challenges, just like every other episode of Bake Off. And as in previous years, the theme was all about Britishness, culminating in a garden party filled with the finalists’ loved ones plus the Bake Off contestants we lost along the way. ‘The finalists go all out with Signature scones, afternoon tea and tiered celebration cakes,’ Channel 4 summarised. ‘Whose chance of winning has come and scone? And who’ll be shedding tiers of joy?’
The Signature Challenge saw the three bakers tasked with whipping up 24 scones (12 sweet, 12 savoury), while the Technical Challenge asked for a whole afternoon tea display: four lemon sandwich cakes, four strawberry tarts and four plaited egg and cress rolls, all crafted in three hours.
Finally, the Showstopper: a decorated hanging cake fit for a summer garden party, made up of at least three tiers of cake with two different fillings. In this challenge, Christiaan crafted a lemon, raspberry and poppyseed cake, Dylan whipped up an Earl Grey and orange creation, while Georgie’s cake was flavoured with lemon, strawberry and champagne. All displayed impressive feats of engineering, but this is where Georgie clinched the competition, outshining the bakers with her beautifully decorated celebration cake.
Where Are They Now?
The Great British Bake Off always culminates in a flash through of all of the series contestants, with a little note about where they are now. Here’s what the series 15 contestants did after Bake Off:

- John climbed Snowdon with his partner, Liam
- Farmer Mike has been busy with the harvest
