What Will Vigil Series 2 Be About?

While the first series saw Amy Silva (Suranne Jones) stuck on a submarine for most of the show, season 2 will take Vigil‘s cast to the skies and the secret world of drone warfare. A Scottish weapons test gone wrong leads Amy and Kirsten (Rose Leslie) to the closed ranks of the air force in Scotland and the Middle East, where they must catch a killer while coming face to face with the future of warfare.

Suranne Jones and Rose Leslie are both confirmed to return for season 2 of Vigil, alongside Gary Lewis who will be reprising his role as DSU Robertson. Some new names on the cast list include:

Where Was Vigil Filmed?

For the second series of the show, Vigil was filmed mainly in Scotland and Morocco. No submarines this time, we’re afraid.

Vigil Series 2 Release Schedule

Vigil series 2 will be made up of six episodes airing on the following dates:

  • Episode 1: 9pm, Sunday 10 December
  • Episode 2: 9pm, Monday 11 December
  • Episode 3: 9pm, Tuesday 12 December
  • Episode 4: 9pm, Sunday 17 December
  • Episode 5: 9pm, Monday 18 December
  • Episode 6: 9pm, Tuesday 19 December

Can You Stream It?

The first three episodes of Vigil will be made available to stream on BBC iPlayer from 6am on Sunday 10 December. The final three episodes will arrive on BBC iPlayer at 6am on Sunday 17 December.
