The new opening will be a more affordable, relaxed sister to the Soho stalwart

Since it opened its doors back in 2008, Londoners have been flocking to Soho restaurant Bob Bob Ricard to press, press, press for champagne. The famed eatery is known for its tableside buttons which deliver fizz in a flash – as well as the French and Russian-inspired menu, which features everything from caviar to beef wellington. In 2021, a second site opened in the City. And now the team is back with another launch, Bébé Bob: a more casual younger sibling with a focus on rotisserie chicken.

Opening this September in Soho, on the corner of Golden Square, Bébé Bob will be suitably stylish. London-based design studio Daniel Monk, who helped create the look for Bob Bob Ricard, has been brought in to mastermind the interiors – and you’ll see some similarities between the two, including the blue and red colour scheme. The space has an art deco-inspired feel, with curved leather banquettes, terrazzo flooring, a geometric patterned carpet and a 12-seater circular bar with a golden granite top.

Group chef director Ben Bonson is at the helm of the kitchen, with the menu focusing on two varieties of chicken from different parts of France, Vendee and Landes. This will be cooked rotisserie-style and carved at the table, served alongside a choice of sides such as truffle French fries, winter leaf salad and sauteed kale.

Adding some signature Bob Bob luxe, guests can also choose from a selection of caviar (Baerii, Oscietra or Shrenkii, in case you’re wondering), made fresh tableside. Fancy going all out? You can also kick your meal off with some oysters.

There are also starters such as smoked salmon from Severn & Wye, egg mayonnaise with anchovy, and white asparagus and hollandaise. And for dessert, diners can choose from chocolate fondant with cherries, Paris Brest with hazelnut cream and praline, and affogato served over Menton lemon sorbet.

All this can be paired with drinks from a concise wine list curated by Group Head Sommelier Giacomo Recchia, chosen because they pair well with chicken. The team have chosen to continue the mark-up on fine wines to £75, no matter the price of the bottle, and many wines are available by the glass.

Leonid Shutov, founder of Bob Bob Ricard and Bébé Bob, said: ‘To open Bébé Bob during our 15th year is a very special moment. We look forward to welcoming both new and returning customers to our brand new single concept dining experience, where delicious food, excellent fine wines and champagne are the order of the day.’
