Where to refuel post-shopping, without leaving the store
Earlier this month, Ralph Lauren announced it would be bringing its Polo Bar restaurant to London, joining branches in cities including New York, Paris and Milan. The launch is still a few years off, primed to arrive in the former Vogue House building in Hanover Square in 2028. But in the meantime, a whole host of other fashion brands already have restaurants, cafes and bars across the capital.Â
The concept of the fashion restaurant is, of course, nothing new. Giorgio Armani was among the first to enter the culinary world with its Parisian cafe, opened in 1998 – the same year Greyhound launched its inaugural eatery in Bangkok. Gucci, Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and numerous other houses have since created foodie ventures all around the world, ranging from relaxed coffee bars to Michelin-starred fine dining with big name chefs.Â
London was a little slower on the uptake, but the past few years have seen a string of pop ups in which fashion and food collide. In 2020, Tiffany & Co brought its Blue Box Cafe to Harrods (already a staple in New York), and the following year Dior took over the rooftop of Selfridges, drenching the store’s Alto restaurant in its signature Toile de Jouy.Â
Other brands, meanwhile, have launched permanent restaurants within their stores – no doubt a bid to entice customers in the age of online shopping, but these also serve as another creative outlet, a visual (and edible) expansion of the brand. From Rixo’s buzzy cocktail bar to Anya Hindmarch’s neighbourhood cafe, here are all the London fashion cafes you can visit now.
Fashion Cafes & Restaurants In Stores Across London
Little Lines Bar At Rixo
Spread across 5,000 sq ft of space on the King’s Road, Rixo’s flagship truly feels like a home for the brand, bringing its cool-girl aesthetic to life with de Gournay wallpaper and Dedar curtains. At the heart of the store sits a cocktail bar, Little Lines, set around a glass-domed rotunda. Here, you can snack on Perello olives (what else?) and sip spicy margs or a glass of Amie rose while musing over whether to buy that dress (in this setting, the answer is always yes).

Anya Cafe
Every summer, queues snake around the streets of Knightsbridge as Anya Hindmarch’s cult ice-cream pop-up returns – renowned for its quirky flavours, from ketchup to pickle. But year-round, you can experience the British brand through your plate at the Anya Cafe across the road. It’s an ode to the old-school British caf, but with Anya’s playful-chic twist: think retro wood-panelled booths, and cakes emblazoned with the trademark eye motif. Provenance is also key, with salmon sourced from Scotland and oak-smoked in Hackney, and coffee from a family roastery in London. Tuck into breakfast dishes of cheddar cheese toasties and Anya’s twist on the Full English, followed by signature sweet treats like the Chubby Heart, a chocolate and raspberry mousse, and the Lemon Smiley Cake, filled with lemon mascarpone.Â

Prada Caffè
In spring 2023, Prada brought a taste of Milan to London by launching a cafe in Harrods, tucked away on the ground floor. With its pistachio hue, checkerboard flooring, velvet sofas and black marble tables, it’s a suitably chic reflection of the Prada aesthetic – inspired by the house’s inaugural Italian stores. It was initially planned as a pop-up, but after proving so popular with London’s fashion set the cafe has remained indefinitely. Stop by in the morning for Eggs Florentine (with the option to add caviar or smoked salmon), visit for some lunchtime crab linguine or treat yourself to an afternoon pick-me-up in the form of artistically designed, Italian-inspired cakes, all served on bespoke tableware.

Arket Café
Next time you pay a visit to the Regent Street branch of effortlessly cool Scandi brand Arket, grab a bite to eat from its in-store cafe. Hidden away behind the lines of cashmere jumpers and barrel jeans, the Swedish-style spot offers an array of freshly baked pastries, coffees and veggie dishes, such as open sandwiches on rye bread and gochujang paninis – all made with locally sourced ingredients.

Ralph’s Coffee
As well as Ralph Lauren’s Polo Bar restaurants, the all-American brand has coffee bars dotted around the world. The first Ralph’s Coffee launched in New York in 2014, with the London outpost to follow three years later, reflecting the brand’s equestrian-themed style with saddle leather banquettes and framed horse paintings lining the walls. On the menu, there’s juices, coffees and sweet treats – and while you’re there, you can buy all sorts of suitably preppy merchandise from bags to baseball caps and totes. In the summer, find a table on the terrace to soak up the London vibes.
