Check out the stunning show apartments at One Crown Place

No longer is London’s financial district the domain of bankers and impassive skyscrapers. In the past few years, Square Mile and Canary Wharf have transformed into some of the capital’s most enviable addresses – thanks in part to brand new luxury developments. Martha Davies checks out the new show apartments at One Crown Place, a particularly lavish collection of apartments and penthouses with dazzling amenities (and even a hotel).

One Crown Place: Is This The Most Coveted Address In London’s Square Mile?

Living room with curved blue velvet sofa and curved dining table

If you’re hunting for a home that provides style and sophistication in equal measure, One Crown Place certainly seems to fit the bill. With Liverpool Street Station just moments away, the development stands in the beating heart of the City of London, encapsulating both the refinement of Square Mile and the vibrancy of nearby Shoreditch. The same can be said for the recently-unveiled show apartments – designed by award-winning studio Angel O’Donnell – which mark the final phase of the landmark project and give an incredible taste of what this gorgeous development has to offer.

Both show apartments boast rich colour palettes, sumptuous textures and an array of bespoke furniture pieces. The three-bedroom apartment is a real showstopper, finished in soft pink and chocolate hues with touches of brushed gold. Locally-sourced art takes pride of place on the walls, while a gorgeous curved sofa and sweeping glass coffee table are the centrepieces of the living area.

The two prismatic towers making up One Crown Place might call to mind the unique majesty of New York’s Flatiron Building, perhaps prompting the question of how exactly you furnish a triangular space. Angel O’Donnell’s answer to this conundrum is a large dose of ingenuity, with bi-folding Crittall doors that create stylish zones and bespoke furniture that maximises practicality (standout details include a hand-crafted table with a swivelling top, allowing you to make the most of the building’s 360-degree views).

Although the rather idiosyncratic angles of the development have been perfectly accounted for, Angel O’Donnell made sure to offset any sharpness with rounded surfaces and soft lines. From the gently twisting legs of the dining chairs to the curved headboards in the master bedroom, every piece is eye-catching, unique and utterly inviting.

Looking around at these gorgeous spaces, you hardly want to leave – but the residents of the 246 apartments at One Crown Place can also enjoy some rather fantastic amenities. More incredible interiors can be found in the residents’ lounge, designed by Studio Ashby, as well as in the sleek work hub and private dining room. Further facilities include a screening room, treatment room and a state-of-the-art gym, and an enormous roof terrace provides another spot from which to take in some brilliant skyline views.

Meanwhile, the adjoining Sun Street Hotel offers One Crown Place residents complimentary members’ club access alongside a range of additional benefits including at-home culinary experiences and private dining from Quercus, the estate’s courtyard restaurant. With all of this on offer, perhaps One Crown Place really is one of the City of London’s buzziest addresses.
