This traditional wine cellar is designed by Milan and London-based Alhadeff Architects, and resides in a converted oil mill in Todi. Umbrian limestone and double height ceilings make it exactly the kind of environment we’d happily spend a few hours quaffing Chianti in.

Created for a private estate in Surrey, this bespoke wine room was built to hold 1300 bottles. Lucy Swallow designed the interior of the property, with grey washed oak, stainless steel, white polished marble all echoed in the design of the wine room, and a backlit feature wall. Temperature and humidity control are also inbuilt, with a specialist insulated cellar door which was made to match the joinery.

We love the 1920s vintage accents in this private, Smallbone-designed home wine and cigar lounge. Evoking the aesthetic of a private bar, the joinery is crafted from ebonised black walnut and cleverly integrated within the design are double wine coolers and drinks refrigeration. Calacatta Venato Bianco superior honed marble was used for the statement bar, which is offset against the deep indigo velvet upholstery in the bespoke banquet seating area.
