Looking for the best face masks for dry, oily or tired skin? Look no further. We’ve found the best luxury skincare treats to leave your complexion looking and feeling softer and smoother.
Whether you’re prepping for a girls’ night in, treating someone to a pampering session or just gearing up for a night of self-care, a face mask can do wonders for both your mood and your skin. Having ascended from the status of ‘colourful goop’ (the kind we slathered on each other at sleepovers in our teens) to skincare saviour, face masks can give our skin a much needed hit of hydration and energy. Boots alone has 13 types of face masks to choose from, from clay, sheet and mud to cream and peel-off (a personal favourite). There’s also masks that target specific areas of the face, like blemishes, pores and under the eyes.
Ready to get started? Plumper, firmer and dewy skin is just a sheet away…
The Country & Town House Responsible Buyers’ Guide
What Are Face Masks?
‘Face masks are a luxurious and essential part of any skincare routine,’ says skincare label Noble Panacea. ‘They provide a deep cleanse, and can exfoliate and nourish the skin, leaving it feeling refreshed, radiant and renewed.’
As for the different types of face masks, Noble Panacea tells us to keep an eye out for ‘clay and charcoal (which are washed off), sheet masks, peel off masks and sleep masks.’
A Closer Look: Sleep Masks
‘Sleep masks, which have taken Western skin care by storm, are adapted from the Korean skin care routine,’ the brand highlights. ‘Formulated for overnight use, sleeping masks are meant to be massaged onto the skin, allowing time for your skin to be soothed and more intensely hydrated. Used as a final part of your night regimen, sleeping masks are formulated depending on your skin type and skin concern.’
Are They Good For Skin?
Face masks can target a number of different concerns, from dryness and irritation to limiting the signs of aging – making them a great addition to your skincare routine.
How Often Should You Use Face Masks?
Generally speaking, a maximum of a few times a week is enough when it comes to using face masks. ‘We recommend using a face mask one to two times per week, depending on your skin type and concerns,’ Noble Panacea advises.
