The Princess of Wales took to the Royal Box to observe the last day of the Championships, with her family in tow

We might have missed her at Chelsea Flower Show and Royal Ascot this year, but tennis fans were lucky enough to see Kate Middleton on top form at the Wimbledon 2025 finals this weekend. As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, the Princess of Wales has been an active representative of various sporting events in the UK – including the Championships. And, like every year since she took on the role from Queen Elizabeth II in 2016, the royal couldn’t miss out on some high stakes tennis. Here’s everything you need to know about Kate Middleton’s appearance at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships (plus what she wore for the occasion).

Wimbledon Finals Weekend: Day 2 (13 July 2025)

Kate Middleton made another appearance at Wimbledon this weekend – and this time, she wasn’t alone. The Princess of Wales stepped out onto Centre Court with husband, Prince William, alongside two of their three children: Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

This marked the royal’s second visit to the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, having watched Poliand’s Iga Swiatek take the Ladies’ Singles title the day prior. But today, the focus was on the Men’s Singles – battled out between heavyweight tennis champions Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.

Ahead of the match, the royal quartet met with Men’s Doubles winners, Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool, as well as waved to crowds from a bridge overlooking the tennis courts’ entrance.

Following Sinner’s win – and after the Princess of Wales presented him with the Gentlemen’s Singles Trophy – the royals once again met with the finalists off the court, where the new Wimbledon champion signed tennis balls for all the Wales children (even Louis, who was notably absent from the family’s excursion).

What Did The Princess Of Wales Wear?

Moving away from yesterday’s tennis whites, the royal donned a cobalt blue gown featuring a belted waist and bow at the shoulder. (The dress itself is thought to be a custom-made piece by London label Roksanda.)

She carried the same Cartier earrings and Anya Hindmarch bag she took to the Championships the day before, but added a large straw hat from L.K. Bennett and gold and diamond necklace from Daniella Draper to her outfit for the Men’s Final.

Princes William and George joined the Princess of Wales in the blue theme, each wearing shades of navy, while Princess Charlotte wore a dainty white summer dress with a black bow and matching ruffled trim.

Wimbledon Finals Weekend: Day 1 (12 July 2025)

The stands at Wimbledon have been eagerly awaiting this weekend – not just because it marks the finals of the 2025 Championships, but because one royal particular was thought to make a special appearance. And she did.

Kate Middleton made a dazzling return to Wimbledon on Saturday 12 July, arriving for the Women’s Singles Final – a match between Poland’s Iga ĹšwiÄ…tek and America’s Amanda Anisimova – and taking the time to meet staff and players ahead of the main event.

And after the match, she continued the tradition of presenting the winner, Iga ĹšwiÄ…tek, with the Venus Rosewater Dish (the official trophy for the Ladies’ Singles).

She’s not the only royal to have made an appearance in the Royal Box this year. Queen Camilla, Princess Beatrice, the Duchess of York, the Duchess of Edinburgh and the Duchess of Gloucester have all sat Centre Court in 2025, as well as the Princess of Wales’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.

What Did The Princess Of Wales Wear?

Kate Middleton’s Wimbledon wardrobe is almost as famous as the royal herself. She’s become known for her pick of pretty tea dresses – in tennis hues of green, purple and white – and this year was no different. The Princess of Wales stepped out onto the stands dressed in one of her favourite brands, wearing a long white dress from London-based label Self-Portrait.

Comprised of short sleeves, a tailored top trimmed with pockets, a waist belt and a pleated chiffon midi skirt, the dress is familiar style for the royal – for the 2023 Championships, she wore the exact same dress in lime green (pictured below).

However, on this occasion, she stuck to tennis whites – teaming up her Self-Portrait gown with a white Anya Hindmarch tote and nude suede Gianvito Rossie pumps. For jewellery, the Princess of Wales accessorised with a gold Halcyon Days bracelet and Cartier earrings.

And, as always at Wimbledon, she wore a green and purple bow-shaped brooch – the symbol of her royal patronage.
