Menswear takes over the UK capital this weekend
Men’s London Fashion Week returns to the UK capital this month, with events popping up from 9 to 12 June 2023. The focus this season? Technology, craftsmanship, sustainability, diversity and menswear storytelling.
What’s Going On With London Fashion Week June 2023?
While Fashion Week typically takes place twice a year – in London, it takes place in February and September – there’s also a Men’s Fashion Week held in January and June. But unlike other years, the British Fashion Council has plans to shake up London’s offering. The new platform, which features more panel events and interactive elements for the public, will make its debut this Friday 9 June.
‘We are thrilled to announce the launch of LFW June 2023 and our plans to pilot a new format for the June event,’ said Caroline Rush CBE, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council, in a statement given earlier this month. ‘In this turbulent landscape, we recognise the need to continuously adapt and evolve to support our community of British designers and brands. To forge a new path, LFW June will resemble a cultural programme, consisting of dynamic events exploring the intersection of fashion, technology, creative communities, sustainability and diversity.
‘British menswear is incredibly broad, with many brands not fitting into the traditional fashion week mould. We want to ensure those brands can continue to tell their great stories to both industry and consumers. This new cultural programme is the direct result of the ongoing conversations we are having with designers about how LFW June can best serve their showcasing needs.’
