Tramp Health is soon to join London's elite wellness club scene

Tramp has long had a reputation as Mayfair’s most raucous party hotspot, but for its next venture the private members’ nightclub is going in a very different direction. In spring 2026, owner Luca Maggiora, will open a wellness club called Tramp Health in Grosvenor Square, just down the road from the Jermyn Street original.
Tramp Heath Will Launch Next Spring
Posting on Instagram, Maggiora wrote: ‘Today is a big day for me and for Tramp, both as a member club and as a brand. It marks the beginning of something incredible: a wellbeing and wellness club for conscious living, opening in Spring 2026 in Mayfair’s most prestigious location. @tramphealth’.
He continued: ‘There are many people to thank, but above all, I want to thank Qatari Diar for believing in my vision and giving me one of the best spaces I could have asked for in London.’
It’s thought that the 16,000 sq ft venue will be attached to the recently opened Chancery Rosewood hotel. On the Tramp Health Instagram, the new project is being described as a place to ‘assess, nourish, move, restore, strengthen and belong.’ Aside from that, we haven’t got much information on what to expect, but if its sister venue is anything to go by, it will be suitably lavish.

History Of Tramp
Located on Jermyn Street, Tramp was founded in 1969 by partners Johnny Gold, Oscar Lerman and Bill Ofner. It immediately began attracting the rich and famous – a result of Lerman’s close relationship with Jackie Collins. Everyone who was anyone partied there in its heyday, from Mick Jagger to Princess Margaret to Joan Collins to Rod Stewart. It was the location for endless wild stories too: Keith Moon was thrown out for swinging from the chandeliers, George Best tried to start a fight with Michael Caine, and Jack Nicholson allegedly once went straight from the club to Pinewood Studios to film The Shining.
It remained a honeypot for celebrities in the 90s, hosting events for the likes of Naomi Campbell and even attracting Prince Harry and Prince William.
But in 2023, Maggiora felt its shine had dwindled and stepped in to revive Tramp to its former glory. He closed the club for two years, giving it a £12 million refurbishment and bringing in some big changes. ‘I removed all the previous members, reimbursed them, closed the club for over a year, refurbished everything, and set myself a few clear principles,’ Maggiora said in an interview with Forbes. ‘The most important was that it would never again be just a nightclub. Since its reopening we’re open every day from midday until late into the night.’ However, he added, he was careful to preserve the fun DNA Tramp was known for.
The Wellness Members’ Clubs Trend
The introduction of Tramp Health is no surprise: wellness members’ clubs are all the rage right now, particularly in London. This September The Sloane Club in Chelsea is relaunching its wellbeing space with a high-tech gym, an infrared sauna and luxe spa-like changing rooms. Soho House, meanwhile, recently announced plans to launch health clubs at its venues, focusing on ‘holistic wellbeing’ with fitness classes and modern treatments like IV drips and ice baths.
SURENNE
And earlier this year, the Maybourne group – which runs hotels like Claridge’s and The Connaught – launched SURENNE at The Emory in Knightsbridge. This sleek new venture has a focus on longevity, with a cafe designed by nutritionist Rosemary Ferguson alongside a state-of-the-art gym.
It’s likely Tramp Health will follow suit with luxurious health and fitness facilities, and membership won’t come cheap (at Tramp members pay £2,000 a year).
