The Truman Brewery
Sitting pretty in the centre of East London’s arts and media quarter, The Truman Brewery is a melting pot of creative businesses spanning shops, galleries, markets. bars and restaurants. It’s also home to the occasional sample sale; previous brands the grace the yards include Vivienne Westwood, Jimmy Choo and AllSaints.

The Box
Another popular venue for sample sales in London, The Box has a curated calendar of events spanning the whole year – from sales and pop-ups to product launches, brand talks and even fashion shows. It’s also one of the bigger venues in the city (it spans 3000 sq ft), which mean the events are usually a bit more extravagant.

Showcase
Teaming up with a global roster of luxury labels, Showcase hosts sample sales from its stores on Regent Street and in the O2 (as well as online). Membership options also allow access to more exclusive events, early bird entry and invitations to members-only events.

Arlettie
With locations in Paris and London, Arlettie is quickly becoming a big venue for sample sales in the city. While membership is available, it’s not essential to access sales – which have previously featured the likes of Balmain, Chloe, Burberry, Dior, Fendi and Maje.

What Is A Sample Sale?
A sample sale is an in-person or online event where brands and retailers sell off excess or leftover merchandise, usually at a discounted price. While originally the term ‘sample sale’ referred to selling items used as samples for vendors, manufacturers and models, it now includes a wider range of sizes (although note that they are still limited by overflow availability) since these sales now encompass overstock items.
While sample sales vary from event to event, they usually offer the chance for shoppers to peruse clothing, handbags, shoes and beauty items.
Where Can You Find Them?
Sample sales are hosted by multiple venues throughout London; some are dedicated sample sale spaces, while others have been rented out by a brand for the occasion.
Are Items From Sample Sales Refundable?
Not always – it’s best to check the T&Cs of any sample sale event prior to attending, in case they don’t accept returns.
