We caught up with SkinYoga founder Radheika Choudhary to find out more about the brand's sustainability credentials

Influenced by their Ayurvedic heritage, Radheika Choudary and her sisters founded Skin Yoga, the worlds first luxury Ayuevedic Face Yoga Ritual, combining award winning botanical skincare, good enough to eat and handcrafted Face Yoga tools that awaken the skin’s own natural ability to lift, sculpt and rejuvenate. All whilst supporting artisan communities whose knowledge and craftsmanship make SkinYoga possible. In this edition of Green Hero, Tia Grazette sits down with Choudary to find out more about the brand and its sustainability credentials.

Green Hero: SkinYoga

How did the idea for SkinYoga originate?

SkinYoga was born from my family’s deep-rooted Ayurvedic heritage and a desire to preserve centuries of traditional beauty wisdom for a modern world. I come from one of Rajasthan’s old business families, where Ayurveda wasn’t simply a wellness practice, it was a way of life. Our ancestral haveli (or home), which has been recognised as a heritage property by the Government of India, has been home to generations of traditional knowledge, rituals and craftsmanship. Over the years, my family developed close relationships with several of Rajasthan’s royal and aristocratic families, who shared many of their treasured beauty rituals and wellness traditions with us. These timeless practices, combining precious botanicals, facial massage and holistic wellbeing, became a source of inspiration for our family.

My grandfather was passionate about preserving this ancient wisdom and incorporated many of these traditional principles into what would eventually become SkinYoga. My sisters and I then took that heritage a step further. Having studied and lived abroad, we recognised an opportunity to present authentic Ayurvedic beauty rituals to a global audience in a modern luxury format.

Today, SkinYoga has evolved into the world’s first luxury Ayurvedic Face Yoga Facelift Ritual, combining award-winning botanical skincare, handcrafted Face Yoga tools made from genuine precious metals and professional facial treatments. Our products are available at Harrods London and Printemps, and our signature Face Yoga Facelift Ritual is also now offered at Harrods, bringing centuries of Ayurvedic wisdom to luxury wellness experiences around the world.

Your products are totally edible. Why is this? What key ingredients do you use and where do you source them from?

Our philosophy is simple: if an ingredient isn’t pure enough to nourish your body, it shouldn’t be absorbed through your skin. We formulate with food-grade botanical oils and extracts, free from unnecessary synthetic fillers. Our hero ingredients include saffron, rose, sandalwood, turmeric, almond oil and sesame oil, sourced from ethical growers and artisan communities across India.

The Face Oil & Wand give you a mini facelift after just one use. Incredible. How exactly should you use the Face Oil & Wand and how often should you use them?

One of the biggest inspirations behind SkinYoga was proving that 100 percent natural skincare, when combined with the correct massage techniques, can deliver results that rival many chemical or device-led treatments. Rather than relying on invasive procedures or electricity-based devices, we combine pure Ayurvedic botanicals with our handcrafted Kansa Wand and specialist Face Yoga massage techniques to awaken the skin’s own natural ability to lift, sculpt and rejuvenate.
After witnessing the remarkable results our clients achieved at home, we introduced our signature SkinYoga Face Yoga Facelift Ritual at selected luxury retailers, allowing clients to experience the treatment professionally. Our therapists also teach guests how to recreate many of the techniques at home so they can continue achieving beautiful results. All you have to do is apply a few drops of our Face Oil and massage with the Kansa Wand using upward lifting strokes for around 10–15 minutes, three to five times a week, or daily as part of your self-care ritual.

Tell us more about the Kansa Wand and why it is so good to use as part of your skincare routine.

The Kansa Wand has been used in Ayurveda for over 5,000 years. Crafted from copper and tin, it helps encourage circulation, lymphatic drainage, release facial tension and enhance the absorption of skincare while naturally supporting a brighter, firmer and more sculpted complexion.

What green business practices are you most proud of?

We produce in small batches, support artisan communities, create handcrafted tools designed to last for years and encourage buying fewer, higher-quality products.

What makes you feel positive about a sustainable future?

Consumers increasingly value craftsmanship, transparency and quality over quantity, giving me optimism that luxury and sustainability can coexist.

And what are the facts that make you fearful?

The pace of overconsumption and unnecessary waste remains a significant concern. We need to move from disposable beauty towards mindful rituals.

Who is your own green hero?

The farmers, artisans and women who continue preserving traditional knowledge and sustainable practices.

Your favourite product – and tell us why we can feel good about buying it.

My favourite is the combination of our 100 percent pure Saffron Face Oil and our handcrafted Kansa Wand. Together they naturally nourish, lift and sculpt the skin without chemicals or invasive treatments. The wand is handcrafted using traditional techniques, while the saffron formulation celebrates pure Ayurvedic botanicals. SkinYoga encourages a mindful ritual built around fewer, better products that genuinely work.

What areas could SkinYoga work on in terms of sustainability?

We’re continually improving packaging, exploring refill opportunities, optimising our supply chain and reducing waste while maintaining luxury quality.

Do you have any plans to expand the Yoga Skin range with new products or treatments?

Yes. Following the successful launch of our signature Face Yoga Facelift Ritual at Harrods, we’re expanding into carefully selected luxury hotel spas and wellness destinations while developing new Ayurvedic skincare and treatment experiences.

A percentage of your profits go towards educating the children of the women that make them. Tell us more about this.

We believe true luxury should create positive social impact. Supporting children’s education helps create opportunities for future generations while giving back to the artisan communities whose craftsmanship makes SkinYoga possible.

What are three ancient Ayurvedic beliefs, ideas or recipes we can all do as individuals to help in the climate crisis.

Firstly, live in harmony with nature and its seasons. Secondly, embrace simplicity by choosing fewer, better products and reducing waste. Finally, practise gratitude and mindfulness, appreciating where our food, ingredients and possessions come from. Small daily rituals, repeated consistently, can create meaningful global change.
