The ultimate (recycled) golden rule
From Completedworks and Dinny Hall to Missoma and Monica Vinader, these are the recycled gold jewellery pieces to discover now (and cherish forever).
Recycled jewellery is on the rise, with many brands setting out their own sustainable and ethical roadmap in accordance with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, including reducing GHG emissions, investing in biodiversity, mine-to-market transparency and traceability for gems and a code of conduct for the full supply chain. The unveiling of these goals has seen many jewellery designers make use of recycled metals in recent years, sourced from refiners that are similarly looking to reduce their environmental impact.
It’s not only the newcomers adopting this sustainable approach, with established brands like Monica Vinader offer handcraft pieces using completely recycled gold vermeil and solid sterling silver (as well as ethically sourced diamonds) to help reduce its CO2 emissions by over 60 percent.
