The city's most magnificent trees (and the designers behind them)

Mulled wine cupped between mittened hands, the scent of chestnuts and gingerbread wafting through the air, pretty lights, and endless pop-ups and Christmas markets to enjoy: London is a great place to be during the festive season. It might feel strange to start celebrating so soon, but magnificent Christmas trees are popping up all across the city already. And with many coming courtesy of the biggest names in fashion, jewellery and beauty, it’s safe to say that these are some of the most stylish trees in town. Here are our favourites.

London’s Best Christmas Trees 2025

St Pancras International

Kicking off this year’s round of pretty Christmas trees is St Pancras International, which unveiled its festive display in the first week of November. Never one to shy away from a showstopper, this year the station presents a 12-metre-high rotating tree modelled after a festive music box – complete with tinkling music, a ballerina topper and an oversized ornamental clockwork winder. (It supposedly took 30 craftspeople over 1,800 hours to complete the moving sculpture.) But visitors will need to get a little closer to see the special story behind this year’s design; St Pancras International invited 38 children from the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity to share their Christmas dreams and wishes for the future, from becoming an Olympic gymnast to travelling outer space, bringing them to life through carefully illustrated baubles arranged in an ascending spiral. A series of window displays at the base, meanwhile, broaden the narrative with scenes depicting a ballerina guiding each dream through the ‘dream machine’ to transform into one of the tree’s baubles.

Claridge’s

Every year without fail, Claridge’s taps one of the city’s brightest names in fashion to construct its legendary Christmas tree – and this year, the renowned hotel has teamed up with fellow British legacy label Burberry. Employing the creative vision of the house’s Chief Creative Officer, Daniel Lee, Claridge’s 2025 festive offering will include a traditional 16ft Christmas tree decorated with hanging bells, chess piece figures (a nod to the label’s Equestrian Knight figurehead) and approximately 600 bows made from surplus Burberry fabrics. The top of the tree, meanwhile, will be adorned with a gold crown topper, and the base will be surrounded by oversized floor-standing chess pieces.

The Londoner

Super boutique hotel The Londoner has also handed over the reins to a London Fashion Week regular this year, enlisting the help of designer Susan Fang to bring its vision to life. Fang, who on the runway is known for her ethereal designs and experiments with silhouettes and textures and materials, promises a dreamy take on the usual festive tree – which the hotel has dubbed a ‘poetic, futuristic masterpiece’. Titled ‘The Crystal Dream Christmas Tree’, was inspired by the intertwining themes of fantasy, air and flora told through the lens of purity. The result? A sculptural, all-white tree comprising transparent spheres and 3D printed flowers, with blush-hued lighting adding a soft rosy glow.
