House of Hackney is turning its attention from walls to floors, teaming up with 270-year-old maker Axminster Carpets on its first flooring collection. Our pick is COMPTON, a William Morris design originally woven for Compton Hall in 1896, reimagined here in a moody onyx palette with tulips and poppies in sumptuous, oversized scale. It’s woven from British wool by Axminster, the Royal Warrant holder behind the carpets at Buckingham Palace and Brighton Pavilion, and every metre sold also funds the protection of 35 square metres of threatened forest through the brand’s World Land Trust partnership.
