Fiona Duncan

Fiona Duncan profile
Fiona Duncan has been reviewing hotels for 40 years. She began her career as an editor and writer of travel guides before launching her own series with her husband: the Charming Small Hotel Guides. She researched and wrote many of the guides, travelling in Britain, Europe and beyond, and in 1999 was asked to write about hotels for the Telegraph. She began her weekly Telegraph hotel column in 2006 which continues to this day, albeit now monthly, in the Saturday Telegraph with over 700 printed reviews to her name, plus many more online. As well as reviews of hotels both in the UK and abroad, Fiona has written many travel articles for the Telegraph and for her other favourite publication, Country and Townhouse magazine, whose annual Great British and Irish Hotels she also edits. Fiona divides her time, when not travelling, between London, where she keeps an eye on her two grandchildren, and the New Forest where she loves to garden, walk and sail.
