Is There A Dress Code For Henley Regatta?

There are two enclosures at Henley Regatta, the Stewards’ Enclosure and the Regatta Enclosure, each with its own dress code. Here’s how to prepare for each one:

The Stewards’ Enclosure

Ladies

The dress code for the ladies states that women should wear dresses or skirts with a hemline below the knee, a jacket or blazer with trousers, or a trouser suit. Wearing a hat to Henley Regatta isn’t a requirement, but many ladies do go to the event wearing them.

The enclosure does not permit female guests to wear shorts, leggings, tracksuits or jeans.

Gentlemen

For the boys, the dress code indicates that lounge suits, or a jacket or blazer with trousers, should be worn in the Stewards’ Enclosure. Many opt to wear traditional striped club blazers on the day to keep to the event’s theme. Regardless, your suit should be worn with a tie or cravat.

The enclosure does not permit male guests to wear shorts, leggings, tracksuits or jeans.

Young Guests

Only children aged 10 and over are permitted in the Stewards’ Enclosure, and from there are expected to follow the ladies’ and gentlemen’s dress codes.

The Regatta Enclosure

There isn’t an official dress code for the Regatta Enclosure, as this area was set up for more informal viewing of the rowing. This enclosure gives guests the option to dress up, with some attending in more casual wear while others dress up in club blazers and rowing apparel.
