The Spa at 45 Park Lane opened to hotel guests from 17 May. Designed by Jouin Manku, the 10,000 square foot wellness space will host Park Lane’s longest swimming pool, spanning 20 metres. There will also be a personal training room and gym, separate sauna and steam rooms, a hydrotherapy pool and private changing and shower rooms. Spa treatments will be by Valmont and Aromatherapy Associates.

The Newt, Somerset

The Newt is welcoming guests to enjoy the hotel, spa and restaurants, adhering to the rule of six guidelines until further notice. Guests staying at The Newt can expect beautifully designed rooms and large baths, fresh seasonal fare from the estate’s garden eateries, and cyder made fresh at the on-site Cyder Press. The Pheasant Inn

The Pheasant Inn, near Hungerford

The Pheasant Inn is open with three three brand new boutique bedrooms (taking the total to 14) and extended restaurant. The rooms have been designed by London based interior designer, Isabella Worsley, adding to the previous work of Flora Soames and Octavia Dickenson. The new menu at the restaurant, created by Head Chef Andy Watts, boasts a series of British dishes all made with local seasonal produce, including Cornish crab salad with toasted sourdough, brown crab butter, avocado, apple, extra virgin rapeseed oil and Wild garlic gnocchi with sautéed mushrooms, charred broccoli, crispy shallot rings and pesto.

Thornbury Castle, built in 1511 during the reign of Henry VIII, is reopening following a multi-million pound refurbishment. Located near Bristol and adjacent to the Gloucestershire countryside, Thornbury Castle is the only Tudor castle in the UK which operates as a hotel and restaurant. Activities to look forward to include bespoke historical tours, a walking garden tour exploring the Castle’s Tudor gardens and kitchen garden, axe throwing, sword skills, archery, falconry, croquet on the lawn and the opportunity to ‘Become a Tudor Queen’ for the day.

Woolley Grange

Glamping at Woolley Grange Hotel, Bradford-on-Avon,

Luxury Family Hotels has launched a collaboration with The Pop-Up Hotel for the ultimate glamping staycation. Nestled in the beautiful grounds of the hotel in the meadow directly parallel to the hotel, Luxury Family Hotels Pop-Up Hotel will be a short walk away from Woolley Grange itself and its south facing outdoor swimming pool, indoor spa, pool and OFSTED registered Den. Meanwhile, the ‘Relight our Fire’ experience aims to foster intimacy between couples that may have been lost during the stresses of lockdown with a one-to-one virtual session with Dr. Kalanit, one of the capitals most in demand relationship therapists. After the consultation Dr. Kalanit will create a personalised programme to help enhance passion and communicate more effectively.
